It’s time to celebrate, and we hope you can join us! This year marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of our Christian Church of Pacific Grove. It’s time to celebrate, reflect, share memories, and pay tribute. But will there be food? One wonders. The answer is, but of course. Plans for a delicious barbecue are in the works. It’s only fitting, after all. We will send out formal invitations soon but, for now, please mark Sunday, May 19, 2019 on your calendar so you can be counted among the celebrants at this rare occasion. We also hope you will want to share any memorabilia that will help make this event even more special. Thank you to Pastor Dan Paul, Nancy Bingaman, and Janet Billets for serving on the planning committee with me
On Ash Wednesday, March 6 instead of a Noontime imposition of ashes, we will meet in the fellowship hall at 5:30 PM for an informal imposition of ashes and the first of seven consecutive Wednesday evening “Soup and Faith Stories”. Each week a volunteer will provide soup and bread for us and another volunteer will tell a personal story of faith. Elder Nancy Bingaman is scheduling the soup makers and story tellers, so if you can help, please contact her.
Palm Sunday in the Park will still be at Berwick Park on April 14 at 9 AM followed by hot-crossed buns and cappuccinos in Jones Hall. Easter Sunday worship will be at 11 AM on April 21 followed by a potluck Easter Brunch.
Sunday, November 4 The Second City alum Rick Hall will be preaching at our 11 AM worship service. AND Laura Hall, pianist from “Whose Line is it Anyway” will be singing and leading our choir in one of her original compositions. They will be joined by former backup singer from Van Halen, Kelly McCloud for a concert after the worship service at 2 PM. The concert is free of charge, but a free will offering will be taken to benefit the Blue Theology Mission Station!
